Keeping books for clients?
The firm plan puts every client on Pro for AED 49 per client a month, with a minimum of 5 clients. Your whole team gets a seat in every client, and one dashboard shows which client needs you next.
How billing works
The short version
- A trial, not a tease. 14 days of Pro on every new company, without a card. When it ends you land on free and keep working.
- Priced per company, in AED. No charge per user, per invoice or per transaction. VAT is added at checkout where it applies.
- Cards handled by Stripe. Card details never touch Midnight Ledger. Receipts, card changes and cancellation live in the Stripe portal.
- Downgrading hides nothing. The free plan limits what you can add, not what you can see or export. Every report keeps working.
- Cancel whenever. Pro runs to the end of the period you have paid for, then the company moves to free.
- 30 days' notice on price changes, and your data exports as CSV on every plan, including free.
Questions people ask before signing up
What does the free plan actually include?+
Everything you need to keep books and file: invoices, expenses, contacts, bank import and reconciliation, the VAT 201 return, the corporate tax estimate, payroll with WPS files, every report, CSV exports and the FTA Audit File, plus the REST API and the AI connector. It is capped at one user, 100 issued invoices and AED 100,000 of booked revenue per financial year.
What happens when the trial ends?+
Nothing dramatic. Every new company gets 14 days of Pro without entering a card. When those days are up you move to the free plan automatically and keep working. Nothing is charged unless you choose Pro yourself.
What happens if I pass the free limits?+
Issuing new invoices asks you to upgrade. Nothing else changes: your books, reports, exports and past documents all keep working exactly as they did. The limits are counted per financial year, so they reset when your year does.
Is it per user or per company?+
Per company. Each company you keep books for has its own plan, so a Pro company and a free company can sit under the same login. Pro includes team members and accountant seats at no extra cost per seat. Accounting firms that keep books for several clients can take the firm plan instead, at AED 49 per client a month.
Is the API and the AI connector on the free plan?+
Yes. The REST API and the MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants are on every plan, free included. They read your books and draft documents; they never issue, post, pay or delete.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?+
By card through Stripe; card details never touch Midnight Ledger. Cancel any time from the billing portal and Pro runs to the end of the period you have paid for, then the company moves to free. Downgrading never hides or deletes anything, and every report and export keeps working.
Is VAT added?+
Prices are in dirhams and exclude VAT. UAE VAT is added at checkout where it applies, and Stripe issues a receipt you can book as an expense.
Do you charge for e-invoicing?+
The e-invoicing connection required from 2027 is planned to be included in Pro, with a capped allowance of 100 e-invoices a year on the free plan. Details will be published here before the mandate reaches small businesses in July 2027.
